Head Coach Emily Conway
Coach Conway played for the Matadors and was a part of the 2013 State Championship team. After several injuries Conway began coaching right out of high school. Developing a love for seeing players reach new heights, she was named coach of the year in 2019-2020 for District 4. Coach received her Undergraduate and Masters in Physical Education from the University of New Mexico.

Assistant Coach Aaron Lopez
Aaron was born and raised right here in Albuquerque, has lived in Rio Rancho/ Albuquerque all his life. Aaron started his coaching journey with 1 year at Rio West Volleyball Club. Aaron went on to coach 9 years at Cleveland High, in which he helped the Storm Volleyball program win several awards. For years Aaron has been coaching/playing for Hogans Heroes adult nationals teams. Currently Aaron is an avid sand volleyball player who loves the game of 2v2 sand volleyball. Aaron is always trying to grow the sport of volleyball with fun events, playing, coaching and of course player development.

Junior Varsity Coach Linnea Romero
Linnea Romero currently works for the Somos Unidos Foundation of New Mexico United. She is driven with a passion for access, inclusion, and equity in sports. Linnea is a graduate from the University of New Mexico where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. She played College Volleyball at Pierce College in Los Angeles as a libero after having been on varsity all four years at Sandia High School. Go Matadors! With her experience growing up and playing sports in New Mexico, she hopes to create more opportunities for kids across the state to reach the next level.

C-team Coach Keshia Padilla
I’m Coach Keshia, I started playing volleyball in high school. At SFIS I also went off to play in college at Haskell University. After I came back from college I started coaching and fell in love with it. I’ve coached at New Mexico Cactus and ARVC. In high school I have coached at Cleveland and La Cueva. Now I am excited to continue coaching at Sandia high school who have been so amazingly welcoming.
